According to the National Psoriasis Foundation, research has shown a correlation between stress and psoriasis. Reducing your stress can improve the condition of your psoriasis. To manage your stress and better your skin, consider the following tips, as suggested by the National Psoriasis Foundation:

Know yourself. Take time to identify what is important to you and what truly makes you happy. Establish priorities and goals, and work towards them.

Take control. Learn about your condition and take the time to care for your body and mind. Focus on doing activities that you enjoy and avoid those that cause you stress or are too demanding.

Develop a personal support system. Seek out friends and family whom you trust and with whom you feel comfortable. Strong support networks are crucial to stress management, as they allow you to share your feelings and talk about your worries and concerns. The National Psoriasis Foundation offers a variety of resources to provide support for psoriasis sufferers.

Practice stress management techniques. Meditation and exercise are excellent, healthy ways to relieve stress. If you are too busy to exercise, take time out of your day to take a few deep breaths, relax and clear your mind.

Simplify your life. Let go of the past. Focus on the present and future.

Think positively. The way you think and feel can have a serious impact on your health. It is always important to think positively and not let yourself get down. When you face your condition and treatment with confidence and positivity, you will find it easier to manage.

Avoid unhealthy stress relief. In times of stress, many people turn to alcohol, cigarettes or other vices. Beware: while these substances may provide temporary stress relief, they will only make your psoriasis worse.
