With the holidays just around the corner (we can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week!), it is important to find ways to adhere to a healthy diet and routine in order to protect your skin against flare-ups during the busy holiday season. We all know that alcohol should be avoided by psoriasis and eczema sufferers whenever possible. However, avoiding alcohol during the holidays can prove difficult, especially with all of the holiday parties and family gatherings to attend. Here are a few recipes for non-alcoholic beverages that will satisfy that holiday drink craving while keeping your skin in check.
Non Alcoholic Cranberry “Champagne”

* 1 Liter of Ginger Ale
* 1/2 Liter of Cranberry Juice
* 1/2 Liter of Lemonade and/or Limeade
Mix all of the ingredients gently, and serve.
Apple Ginger Sparkler

* 1/4 cup Ginger Syrup
* 4 1/2 cups sparkling apple cider
* 6 cinnamon sticks

Mulled Cranberry Cocktail
Makes 1 quart
Ingredients
* 1 quart cranberry juice
* 1 cinnamon stick
* 2 whole cloves
* 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 2 tablespoons water
In a medium saucepan, combine the juice, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and let simmer while you prepare the cranberry garnish. In another saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons water. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring, until cranberries pop and are coated with the sugar mixture. Let cranberries cook, and thread 3 to 4 berries on four decorative skewers. Pour the hot cranberry cocktail into four glasses, and garnish with cranberry skewers.
