For Psoriasis Awareness Month, the National Psoriasis Foundation is hosting a Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Online Film Festival. Throughout the month of August, psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis sufferers and their friends and family are invited to submit a short video (no longer than 7 minutes in length) about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The various categories include:
Youth
Hey kids! Get our your video camera and show us what it’s like to be a young person with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
Documentary
Document a day in your life, focus on treatment or how you take care of someone with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
Action
Have you taken action recently to help find a cure psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis? Show how you are taking a stand through grassroots advocacy and volunteer activities.
Animation
Superheroes, space aliens and talking animals can all play a starring role when you tell the tale of life with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis using animation.
Comedy
Are psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis funny? No! But you can help bring a lighthearted spin on living with chronic disease when you submit a video to the comedy category.
Horror
Sometimes dealing with a chronic disease can be downright scary. Unleash your inner Hitchcock and create a video that will have the audience on the edges of their seats.
Music video
Got a song about psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis? This category encourages you to get out the guitars and let it flow.
The National Psoriasis Foundation is offering a $500 Visa gift card as the grand prize for the video that gets the most online votes. The deadline for submitting videos is August 28, 2011.
