What a great way to start off the new year. The ladies of the popular fourth hour of NBC’s TODAY Show highlighted our Wildly Natural Seaweed Powder Baths during asegment Thursday where they got a little carried away in their presentation — much to the delight of themselves, the off-camera crew, and those of us here at The Seaweed Bath Co headquarters in Austin, Tx.
Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotd host that celebrated fourth hour of the television in NBC’s morning lineup, and Thursday’s edition featured a segment about caring for dry flaking skin during the winter months. Touted as “Today’s Beauty Winter Skin Solutions,” the two hosts were joined by style and beauty expertJenn Falik, the go-to source for the latest tips, trends and beauty products.
Jenn joined the TODAY Show hosts at a long table displaying a half dozen or so products designed to ward off winter beauty woes, and when they arrived at The Seaweed Bath Co., display, the beauty expert began describing our Wildly Natural Seaweed Powder Bath products.
She said that sometimes the only thing we want after a cold winter day is a hot bath; suggesting long soaks generally dry out the skin. But the moment Jenn mentioned a main ingredient in our product — bladderwrack seaweed — co-host Kathie Lee Gifford interrupted her presentation by saying, “Bladder rack?” When Jenn attempted to describe the seaweed, Kathie Lee looked into the camera with a grin and said, “I thought those were two separate things.”
The trio began giggling, then laughing and it was Jenn who recovered first, adding, “You can soak both of those things in the tub and get a nice pampering soak without drying out your skin.” She said bladderwrack seaweed alkalizes the skin’s pH so you don’t get redness. (Nice job, Jenn!)
No wonder PEOPLE magazine describes the fourth-hour segment as “TODAY’s happy hour.” Funny stuff.
It was good to see one of our most popular products displayed prominently on national television, along with accolades from a top-rated beauty and style expert. And whether you think of bladderwrack as one word or two, this North Atlantic seaweed, combined with our healing oils and soothing scents, creates a fantastic bathing experience — without drying out your skin.
