I was fortunate enough to have two fantastic trips to Maine this summer to harvest seaweed and attend the Maine Seaweed Festival in Portland. Maine is such a beautiful and vibrant state, and I always feel right at home there. It's the perfect place to harvest our seaweed due to the cold, nutrient-rich waters of the North Atlantic Ocean and a warm, thriving community who is passionate about seaweed just like we are.

Our harvesting trips this summer were extremely successful, as the weather was great and the seaweed was abundant. Our local harvesters do an incredible job of sustainably harvesting the seaweed by cutting in a way that allows it to regenerate and regrow to the same size or larger than we found it within 36 months. I really enjoy being out on the water with the team and getting my hands "dirty."

Once the seaweed is brought back to shore, our team dries it on racks outside in the beautiful Maine sunshine to preserve its amazing vitamins and nutrients from the ocean.

The Seaweed Bath Co. had the great honor of participating in the Maine Seaweed Festival this year, which brings together the community to celebrate local harvesters, farmers and fishermen. We met a lot of incredible people who are passionate about seaweed and how it can improve our health and our environment. 

We can't wait to go back next summer!
